The CALM Center’s Media Arts Youth Program

Many schools in the Philadelphia region are losing their arts programs; causing the disabling of the ability to think creatively. The Creative Arts Lounge and Media Center youth program will enroll and teach young teenagers soft skills saving them from a society that is out to captured their minds and send them down a path of destruction. The C.A.L.M. Center encourages and challenges their artistic ability, while giving the youth a platform to display their abilities to the public in a professional and artistic manner. The youth will be allowed to express themselves in photography, painting, and video production. With the closing of schools and artistic programs, the youth are losing creative critical thinking and problem solving skills that comes with putting together an idea and acting on it. We at C.A.L.M. are focus on providing that outlet.

The C.A.L.M. Center Youth Program covers 10 young teenagers and is planing to launch program late September.

We are starting with Photography and Videography. Children will learn technical basics and have an exhibition at the end for the 12 week program displaying their best photos and mini movies.

C.A.L.M. Center is a registered 501 C 3, which means that you can write your money and item donations off on your taxes. Donations will bring this program to life, the follow items are needed immediately:

Laptop Computers (Most Important)

DSLR Cameras (Most Important)

DSLR Lens (Most Important)

Pens

Pencils

Paper

Printers

Paint Supplies

Tripods

Microphones

Lights

Backgrounds

Anything that you think would help the children learn.

The youth will be using the computer to edit the photos and videos they capture on the DSLR Cameras. Please email me if you are able to donate items or the month to purchase the items needed. Thank you for your time.
