Creative Arts Lounge Launches Media Arts Youth Program

On Thursday, October 16th 2014, Creative Arts Lounge and Media Center’s Media Arts Youth Program was launched at the Lower Mansfield Recreation Center.

The Media Arts Youth Program’s main purpose is to equip children with the right tools to achieve in life artistically. They believe that this knowledge will provide them with a more diverse set of options and lower the chance of them failing in life.

In this 12-week program, children will learn the basics of photography, video, and lighting.

The students who participated in the after school youth program had hands on experience with professional DSLR cameras and training from professional photographers.

With copy books and pencils provided by State Representative Mark B. Cohen, students were able to take notes and participate in the workshop.

The presentation was under the direction of Media Arts Youth Program’s director Wesley ‘#MrWesleyBrown’ Brown with assistances from professional photographer Vernon of Creative Mind Productions.

Wesley and Vernon worked with the children to understand the DSLR camera and terms of photography.

Students loved the presentation and working with the equipment. They look forward to the upcoming weeks within the youth program.

Every Thursday, until Thanksgiving, the Media Arts Youth Program will be hosted at the Lower Mansfield Recreation Center. Next Thursday, students will be working with lighting techniques.

On November 6th, the Media Arts Youth Program is planning of mock photoshoot for the children. The goal of this mock photoshoot is to create an professional photography environment experience.

On November 21st, the media arts program will be having a photo exhibition along with a Thanksgiving dinner for the children in the program.

The youth program is looking for donations to enhance the quality and materials of the education being provided. The program needs DSLR cameras and laptops. All donations are tax deductible.
